Skills in practice, applied to a real industry decision
Every BatteryMBA cohort works through case studies built from situations our alumni and lecturers have lived through. This open case study summarises the structure participants use to move from raw industry data to a defensible recommendation.
The brief
Participants are handed a partially-defined industry problem with conflicting data and tight commercial constraints. The task is to frame the question, isolate the cell-level and system-level drivers, and produce a recommendation a board could actually act on.
What participants build
A short investment memo backed by a technical justification: chemistry choice, supply chain implications, cost trajectory, and the risks worth flagging. Reviewed by industry lecturers actively working on the same kind of decision.
Why it matters
Alumni consistently tell us this is the moment the programme stops being theoretical. Linking cell chemistry to capex to commercial outcome is the skill the battery industry hires for, and it is what BatteryMBA trains.
Work cases like this inside the programme
Every BatteryMBA cohort runs an optional case study track where participants build recommendations on live industry questions, mentored by lecturers working on the same problems.
